Every book recommended on the Butterfly Books blog is a favourite, a carefully chosen and much loved book. So choosing one over another is a tough job! But for the end of 2017 I thought I’d choose the best of the best of this year’s recommendations.
Butterfly Books recommends all sorts of books, but this list will be the kinds of books that set this blog apart: books to support kids and teens through hard times, and a focus on books that reflect diversity. Just click on the link to see the full review.
This week: newborn to 5 years old
Worm loves Worm and they want to get married. But they want to do it their own way, even if that means changing how it’s “always been done.”
This book is so cute it’s hard to resist! And beneath the appeal to little ones is its important message about change and openness and the equality of love.
Little Monkey has dropped his ice cream and is feeling “sad and mad and angry.” A tantrum is coming! Luckily he knows some things he can do to feel better.
This book teaches children names for their feelings and ways to manage their feelings. And kids will love the funny monkey and the colourful, graphic illustrations!
Next week, find out my favourite choices for 6 – 8 year olds!
A Butterfly Books gift subscription makes a great holiday gift! You give it in December, and the child or teen keeps getting it for 3, 6, or 12 months! It’s a fun way to grow a love of reading, and a gift you can feel good about giving. Find out more and order today!
